They steal your money by “improving” your “long tail keyword” search results, when what they really do is change a few pages and meta tags on your site, then after a month or two of payments they send you a bill, complete with “logs” that show visitor traffic from search engines with these “long tail keywords” as the driving force behind their cooked results.

But, if you go back before this SEO Expert started working on your site I bet you’ll see the same type of long tail keywords results in your visitor traffic logs.

So, if you are hiring an SEO Expert to help you increase your search engine positions, make sure you already know which keywords are bringing in your traffic already and have a list of “long tail keywords” that you prepared in advance that you’d like to see gain in search engine rank.

I’ve been putting extra hours into quite a few of my sites, and still building more, as well as working on marketing a new video date service (to be announced soon!), dealing with personal health issues (not any more of this later) and my own website design business too.

Not that DatingB2B.com is unimportant to me… it’s home for me. Completely of my own information, sweat and tears… not that there’s been many tears, unless a server goes down or some blackout that keeps me offline for a while.

But to catch you up, let’s say that I’ve been putting in extra time to have a more relaxed summer. Or at least be able to put in more time on other things, not web-related.

That being said, I have been moving many of my sites to the WordPress system, which requires not only the install and design of the templates, but also the import, often manually, of the information on the site as it existed.

It’s very time consuming. Overall it takes me about 3 to 5 days to convert an existing site to WordPress… and that’s just one site.

New things you want to know about:

1. The Amazon Kindle Store, ebooks for the Kindle Reader, now has an affiliate program that pays you CASH for people subscribing and paying to read your blog. Weird. I don’t know of too many blogs that I’d pay $3.00 a month to read, but there are a couple that have invaluable information for me that I would certainly wouldn’t think twice about kicking a couple of dollars to the writers.

I have used the paypal option on a few sites to send a couple of dollars to the owners/writers. Heck, if it’s worthwhile, I’d just as soon buy it online as read it in a magazine that I’d pay a copuple of dollars for anyways.

2. Quantcast has made it easier to integrate their traffic counter into your site’s pages and show the world your traffic numbers and some more detailed information about your site.

Good for attracting advertising dollars and setting up another counter to show the value of your website’s traffic. You should think about setting up an account. I think that, in the long run, you may appreciate the public comparison numbers more than the abstract Google Analytics stats. Take a few minutes and consider Quantcast.com for finding out more about your site’s traffic.

3. The “White Label” option for dating services has continued to gain in webmaster popularity BUT the key is still “Content is King”.  If you don’t have a unique theme, or a design and related artciles that will continually attract ne wvisitors and keep the old ones coming back, you WILL NOT make any money with online dating services.

That being said is that I still find Bone Fish to be the easiest white label to work with. If you haven’t set a site up with Bone Fish, it’s time you did. Take a look here and consider them for your next dating service project.

4. There was  awhile lot more that i wanted to share with you, but it’s going to have to wait for another day…. but the wait will be worth it, I hope!

Your reputation is built over months and years and it’s ruined in a moment with the careless posting, a bad word said to the wrong person, even a simple misunderstanding.

Building your reputation takes time, effort and involvement. The Internet has an estimated hundred and 20 million websites, you’re is going to be but one of them, maybe have two them, maybe 100 of them, but the thing is that if they’re all built on reputation of yourself may be your designers if you have them, maybe your writers as well if you have those, but it comes down to you and your name protect it all you can.

Become involved in the community of topics of interest become involved in the type of business he ran with other people that are in similar businesses. Watch how others progress take advice we can and always try to move your business forward, evenly and fairly.

Don’t be afraid to ask for advice, and don’t be concerned when you don’t get an answer. Some webmasters are very protective of the information they have but undoubtedly if you search hard enough, if you work hard enough, you’ll find out how to make your own success online.

Do with it what you will.
Write, add pictures, video, podcasts,…. whatever you want. The possibilities are limitless, yes, literally limitless.

I suggest joining the community so if you have questions or problems you can easily, and usually quickly, get some help.

So, after you’ve found a web host you need to upload, or install, WordPress. Then find a theme you like and install that (usually ftp it into your /blog/ or /wordpress/ folder into the right directory, login to admin and install themes, plugins, widgets and create pages and posts.
